We are thrilled to welcome Rick Steicke (former owner of Gully Gardens) into our very own orchard to guide you through the absolute basics of fruit tree maintenance.

In this 1.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn:

• 🪵 What is fruiting wood? (And how to spot it!)

• 🌱 Understanding buds and leaders to master the structure of your tree.

• ✂️ Shaping and pruning techniques for maximum health and harvest.

• 🦠 Disease overview: How to identify common issues and treat them.

⚠️ Important Information Before You Book:

Because this workshop takes place in our operational production nursery and orchard/chook yard, please keep the following in mind:

• Footwear: Fully enclosed shoes or boots are strictly required for safety.

• Weather: We’ll be outdoors, so please dress for the elements and bring an umbrella just in case!

• Mobility: The ground is very uneven and may present trip hazards. Attendees must be physically fit, able to walk on uneven terrain, and comfortable standing for the duration of the workshop. (Not suitable for those with mobility issues).
