Retail Sales Assistant 

Barossa Nursery is a local family owned and operated Garden Centre in the Barossa Valley. Our beautiful multi award-winning garden centre is open 7 days a week. We proudly provide quality plants, gardening products, gifts, homewares and lifestyle products for locals and visitors to the region.

We are growing our team at Barossa Nursery and are thrilled to be able to offer a number of positions.

There are opportunities for full time, permanent part time and casual positions. All positions will involve assisting customers throughout the business including working in both our indoor showroom and outdoor retail area.

Duties will include:

• Exceptional customer service
• Computer basics including point of sale and EFTPOS operations
• Plant and product care and maintenance
• Receiving and displaying new stock to a high standard
• Following our merchandising principles and providing inspirational ideas to customers
• General house cleaning procedures
• Understanding of Health & Safety practices

Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm, Sunday 9am to 5pm, Public Holidays 10am to 4pm.  This position will require work on weekends and/or public holidays and penalty rates apply.

The successful candidate will require the following attributes:

• Energetic and enthusiastic customer service and enjoy helping people
• Polite and courteous at all times
• Neat personal appearance
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivation and able to work unsupervised as well as working well in a team
• Current and valid truck and forklift license would be an advantage, but not essential
• Horticultural knowledge is highly desirable but not essential
• This role is physical in nature and will require some heavy lifting
